Che Adams (simply known as “Adams”), born on July 13, 1996, in Leicester, England, is a British footballer who plays as a center forward. He began his career in non-league football before joining Sheffield United at the end of 2014, thus making his debut in professional football. In 2016, he transferred to Birmingham City in the Championship. During the 2018–19 season, he scored 22 goals in the Championship, becoming the first player in nearly 24 years to score 20 or more goals in a single season for the club; he was also named the club’s best player in both offensive and overall categories. In 2019, he joined Southampton for a fee of £15 million, where he repeatedly scored crucial goals; during the 2023–24 season, he netted 18 times. In July 2024, he moved to Torino. Although he was eligible to represent England or Antigua and Barbuda, he ultimately chose Scotland, the country of his maternal heritage. He made his debut for Scotland in 2021 and scored on that occasion; in the same year, he was selected for the UEFA Euro squad, becoming the first non-white player to participate in a major tournament with the Scottish national team. He was once again included in Scotland’s Euro 2024 squad.
